Millbrook Winery is one of our favourite attractions in the Serpentine area and really is a little slice of heaven nestled in the historic town of Jarrahdale. Peter and Lee Fogarty purchased the boutique winery in 1996. It was their first entry into the wine business and was a true labour of love, with them and their family planting the first vines in the vineyard together. The winery is located at the picturesque Chestnut Farm, a property that backs on to the Serpentine River and is settled among jarrah forests, encompassing stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The original Chestnut Farm dates back to the 19th century, the original owner Joseph Batt planted the orchard in 1865 and provided local timber-millers working in Jarrahdale with fruit. Fast-forward to the present day and the state-of-the-art winery, which was completed in 2001, is now the focal point of this stunning property. The spectacular local stone and timbers used to reflect the natural beauty of the area became home to a modern winemaking facility, barrel halls, a tasting room and a restaurant which all showcase the amazing products of the region.
There are 4 main wine ranges at Millbrook Winery for you to enjoy including the limited release range, which consists of the very best wines produced at Millbrook. They are critically acclaimed and only ever made in the best years. Because of this the range is ever changing based on the varieties that excel in particular vintages. The Estate range is 100% made from estate fruit grown on the stunning property. They embody the best that the Perth Hills wine region has to offer and include Viognier, Shiraz, and Cabernet. The Regional range actively sources fruit from very select vineyards across Western Australia. The fruit selected is the absolute best for the particular variety, allowing Millbrook to produce some amazing wines in this range. These Wines are meant to be consumed no later than 5 years after release and are fantastic value for money! Lastly, the Barking Owl range (named after the owls that can be found in the jarrah forest surrounding the winery or perched on the vineyard rows) are easy drinking, modern wines designed to match a broad range of cuisines. The range consists of Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Shiraz.
The Millbrook restaurant really is a very special place to eat. Not only does it feature multi-award winning chefs cooking up some incredible modern Australian eats, it also features sweeping views of the surrounding jarrah forest, the perfect setting to indulge. The menu is frequently changing, and features ingredients sourced locally and sustainably. Millbrook’s commitment to sustainability is steadfast and something that has inspired many of the incredible meals coming out of the kitchen. The dishes incorporate over 100 varieties of heirloom vegetables grown in the Millbrook garden and picked daily, as well as various fruits, free range eggs, olives and honey sourced from the estate. Millbrook restaurant has been named as one of Australia’s top 500 restaurants by the Australian Financial Review, and was named in the top 10 restaurants in WA by both Qantas Travel Insider, and Gourmet Traveller magazines!

A location close enough to home to make for a completely relaxing weekend. Colleen was very accommodating, professional and helpful and the accommodation was perfect. The park was clean and tidy and very quiet and close enough to all the key sightseeing locations. We will be back!
Great little park with fantastic caretakers and exceptionally clean amenities. We have felt welcome and loved our Easter stay. Thank you and we’ll be back.
We booked in for 4 nights with our caravan and ended up staying an extra 2 nights. Great park, good size sites nice grassed area. Amenities very clean and nice camp kitchen although had to pay to operate hotplates and bar-b-ques (most places these are free). Lovely helpful staff and a good place to base ourselves to see Freemantle and Perth and surrounding area. The falls are beautiful very worth a visit.
